Be conscious of the amount of steel balls you add in the drum; if you add too many or too few compared to the ore, then the desired particle size will not be accurate and the amount of time it takes to grind ore will take a lot longer. A used sag mill or Semi-Autogenous Grinding (SAG) mill is a rotating drum that is filled with steel balls and rocks and is used for grinding purposes. The rotating drum is lined with lifting plates that carry the steel balls and rock up and around which causes a cascading motion that causes impact with the material and grinds it down to finer particles. SAG mills have a large diameter, but are short in length.
